Novel Tissue-Engineered Biodegradable Material for Reconstruction of Vascular Wall

22 March 2023

A publication in The Annals of Thoracic Surgery journal studied the successful in situ regeneration of the arterial and venous wall in various cardiovascular surgeries using tissue-engineered patch fabricated by biodegradable polymer and collagen microsponge. Promed’s team believes that collagen in combination with other biodegradable materials can play a significant role in the reconstruction of the cardiovascular system and can address the existing issues that arise during surgeries due to the use of artificial grafts.
